Round two of European Ladies Championship was held last weekend in Pragelato, Italy. The sole British contender in the championship class, Becky Cook (MRS BVM Sherco) took second position despite an eventful few days leading up to the event, where Becky and her team were left stranded at a garage with a damaged fan and radiator on her van, causing them to miss practice and section inspection.

However thanks to the Italian federation they finally made it back to the paddock in time for the trial Sunday morning. Becky completed the first lap for four single marks rides, with Laia Sanz going ‘clean’ and Iris Kramer on six. Becky then went on to record the best lap score of the second lap dropping three marks with Laia and Iris adding four to there score, meaning Laia took the win on four, Becky second on seven and Iris third on ten.

Becky continues on to the Czech Republic for the final round this weekend.

Becky Cook riding her MRS BVM Sherco took second place in the opening round of the Women’s World Championship held in Andorra last weekend.

The sections were in two groups close to the paddock and thunderstorms on the previous days had made the rocks slippery. Becky lost the majority of her marks on the long and technical sections five, six and eight. On the first lap she recorded two threes and her sole five of the trial when she was timed out. At the end of the lap she was lying in third place on seventeen marks, one behind Iris Kramer with Laia Sanz on eight.

Becky improved on the second lap, cleaning the hard parts of sections five and six but still ending up dropping three single dabs in each. She completed the lap for eleven marks moving her up into second position behind Laia, with Iris losing out to Joanne Coles for third place.

The final two rounds are not until September but Becky will be competing in the European Ladies Championship, which resumes this month in Italy and Czech Republic.

The fifth round of the British Ladies Championship was held last weekend and Becky Cook continued her run of wins on her MRS BVM Sherco.

The 12-section course set out by Cheadle MCC was a low scoring event as the dry conditions provided plenty of grip. Becky won on just two marks, these being a dab on the awkward section 8 on laps one and three. Emma Bristow took second finishing on five, with Donna Fox third on twelve.

Becky’s next competition will be the first round of the Ladies World Championship in Andorra on June 27th.

Becky Cook (MRS BVM Sherco) secured a double victory at the latest rounds of the British Ladies Championship run by Scarborough & DMC and Eboracum MCC.

Round three was held at Low North Park where the riders had to complete two laps of fifteen tough, technical sections. Becky's first lap score of thirteen included nine clean rides but also an unfortunate five for touching a marker, this put her in a clear lead ahead of Donna Fox on twenty eight and Emma Bristow on twenty nine. A confident second lap of just five gave her a convincing win on a total of eighteen marks lost with the battle for second being won by Donna finishing on forty nine and Emma third on fifty eight.

The following day, round four was held at Hovingham Quarry with a different format of four laps of ten sections. Becky had a steady day riding consistently, losing three marks apiece on her first two laps but all on different sections, her nearest rival, Donna Fox was on ten. Becky lost a solitary dab on the third lap before another lap of three. Donna put in a good ride of three for the final two laps but Becky still held the advantage to finish three marks in front of her at the finish.

Becky Cook (290 MRS BVM Sherco) took the win at the second round of the British Ladies Championship, but only just after a poor performance and some unlucky fives from the reigning champion.

Her day started well but quickly went downhill when she reached section eight, when her front wheel tucked under after she had cleaned the difficult big slab. Several more slack rides left Becky down in third position, with Donna Fox leading and Emma Bristow in third.

The second and third laps were much the same as Becky suffered another two fives. One on the final section when she was deemed to have taken a marker out. Her second lap of ten had pulled Becky back up into the lead, where she just managed to hang on to win by one mark from Emma.

The championship resumes this weekend with rounds 3 and 4, run by Scarborough & DMC and Eboracum MCC.
