Round 5 of the British Ladies Championship was held at Dob park in Yorkshire. The day started off overcast and windy as riders were setting off to complete three laps of twelve tricky sections set mainly in slippery rocky streams and beck’s. Section one was a nice easy opener with a drop down into the stream with an angled exit out over some slippery rocks which took a few nervous marks off the championship riders but MRS BVM Sherco rider, Becky Cook took the only clean which was a good start to the day. Section two was Becky’s worst section of the day starting with a tight right hand turn up a very narrow stream, only just wide enough to fit handlebars and foot pegs through. Half of her overall score of eight was lost on this section. They then moved onto a couple of sections in the trees on loose soil and dry polished rocks which caused no problems for Becky. With most of the other sections in the slippery streams there was no guaranteed cleans and no section she could relax on as an inch off line would cause an easy dab or even a 5! One of the hardest of the day was section nine, a climb up the stream then tight turn onto the bank then back in stream before some narrow technical turns up and out of the section. Becky took a brand new line here that no one else tried to follow, it was a more straight forward line but involved going up some bigger rock faces and bank which she rode perfect every lap to take a much needed win ahead of Joanne Coles and Emma Bristow.
