British Ladies Championship Round 3
Written by Becky Cook

The third round of the British Ladies Championship was held last Sunday by Lincoln MC at Manton Quarry, on what turned out to be a hot, sunny day with no shade and little breeze.

MRS Sherco rider, Becky Cook hasn’t had the best of luck this year in the British Championship and was eager to get back into it. Unfortunately it seems like Becky’s bad luck still isn’t over as she stalled the bike in the first section and could not keep her feet on the pegs resulting in a five, where all the other riders had little difficulty on. Then on section two which was also an easy section the bike stalled again but Becky managed to keep her feet up this time for a clean.

After a very shaky start to say the least Becky never really recovered and was five marks down on the leader after the first lap. Her next two laps were much improved with her recording the best lap of the day on her final lap, a loss of just two marks. She was disappointed not to have a ‘clean’ lap as those two marks were lost in the easy part of the sections. The final scores were Joanne Coles on sixteen, Becky on twenty two and Emma Bristow on thirty eight.

Becky will be riding the Victory trial this weekend as final preparation for the SSDT where she’s hoping for a good ride and better weather than last year!
