The 2010 British Ladies Trials Championship kicked off last weekend with round one hosted by Basingstoke MCC. The course was very compact consisting of four laps of eight twisty sections on the banks.

It was to be a very nerve racking event as the sections were on the easy side and any mistake would prove costly, as reigning champion, Becky Cook found out. Unfortunately she didn’t make the start she’d hoped for as her back wheel slipped out on a couple of occasions. However she still finished second and scored valuable points towards the championship. The final results were as follows; Joanne Coles first on one mark lost, Becky second on seven and Emma Bristow third on eleven. With six more rounds to go it is still all to play for, starting this weekend as round two takes place in Staffordshire where Becky will be fighting hard for the win.
