The 30 girls who had come from all over the world to compete over the past two weekends were back out the next day riding over a completely new course now with fifteen tougher sections to tackle.

Becky suffered similar fate to the previous day as she fived sections two and three. Her day then got even worse she fell off her bike as she exited section five smashing her knee on a rock, cutting it badly and causing it to swell up. She struggled through the rest of the first lap waiting and hoping the pain killers would kick in! She came in on twenty four marks and down in fifth place. Not what she wanted and despite the pain she went out determined to at least get back into a podium position come the end.

A massive effort by her and the team got her through the remaining fifteen sections remarkably without any fives, just a couple of three’s, a two and six one mark rides. A brilliant ride on the long and technical eleventh which bettered every other rider and was half that of World Champion, Laia Sanz showed everyone what true skill Becky possess.

She had taken ten marks off her first lap recording a score of fourteen for the second lap. Her final score of thirty eight had pulled her back up to third position which was a decent result in these circumstances but once again she had come so close to second, just two marks behind this time. The final scores were Laia Sanz on seventeen, Emma Bristow on thirty six and Becky on thirty eight.

After several days training in Germany, the team moved onto Tanvald in Czech Republic for the final round of the European Ladies Championship. Becky was currently lying in second place in the championship.

She was riding really well and rode the first lap almost faultless cleaning all but two sections where she incurred a five in both and finished the lap on ten. Unfortunately it was that kind of trial for Becky where she either cleaned or fived! Championship leader, Laia Sanz came in on clean, Emma Bristow on eight and Sandra Gomez two behind Becky on twelve.

The second lap faired a bit better for Becky as she only incurred the one five on section four. A dab on section’s six and eleven gave her the second best lap score of seven but her hard work never paid off as she was cruelly denied the runner up spot by one mark! The final podium scores were Laia on clean, Emma on sixteen and Becky on seventeen.

Becky took home the bronze medal in the final championship standings but was gutted to be so close and just miss out on the silver.

The following day the ladies were back out again for the first round of the Women's World Championship, there were an extra three sections from the day before with several of them eased and four or five sections toughened up.

Section three was the first tester as they had a couple of large steps followed by a five step staircase which was very slippery due to the dust. Becky had a three on her first lap after her front wheel dropped to low on the third step but the second lap went a lot better riding the section for just a dab but unfortunately was given a three as Becky sumped the bike on the bash plate on the last rock and the observer deemed that she put her toes down!

When reaching the wooded sections Becky found out Laia had fived the rock step in section seven, and tried her hardest to take advantage of this but it was not to be as she fived this section both laps.

Becky was right at the back of the field and rain had started to fall by now but not enough to wash the mud of the rocks and when Becky and minder, Craig arrived at the final two sections, they decided to wait to see if the sections improved as they knew it was close for second position.

Becky kept her cool as they waited for over an hour to see what the weather would bring. For the next half an hour the rain kept coming but only lightly which wasn't washing the rocks off! Then the sun came out and the rocks started to dry but with not much time left Becky rode the section with the entire crowd and all riders watching, eager to see the climax of the trial but the rock had just not dried enough and with a full hearted attempt Becky unfortunately fived section fourteen but cleaned section fifteen much to the crowds delight. However it wasn't enough and she had to settle for third. The final results were Laia on 5, Emma on 26 and Becky on 30.

The second round of the Ladies European championship was held in Grossheubach, Germany. The course was held mainly in the trials park with four sections in the surrounding woodland.

Becky on her new factory Sherco started confidently and had a storming first lap loosing only three marks on her first lap. Her first loss being on section two, where she just overshot the first rock into the section. She stayed clean then till the difficult sixth section, where she cleaned the big middle step but got a puncture and broke two spokes and needed a dab to clear the final step. She had a frustrating one dab on the easy part of section eight then cleaned the massive step at the end where everyone one else was struggling. The first lap scores saw Laia Sanz on clean, Becky on three and Emma Bristow on twelve.

Becky was still in touch with Laia for the win but the dry rocks had become much more slippery on the second lap due to lots of dust getting on to the rocks and with the sun still beating down, sapping the riders energy.

Becky was still riding well though just having the odd dab here and there. But an unfortunate five on section eight pushed her score up to nine for the lap and put her in a solid second position at the end of the day. The final scores were Laia on five, Becky on twelve and Emma on eighteen.

The final round of the British Ladies Championship took place in Richmond, North Yorkshire. Becky had already won the championship at the previous round so decided to ride her brand new factory Sherco which she had only picked up two days before and had limited time to get used to it. However she was very happy with it and still confident she could win.

It was a dry day over head but the streams, rocks, banks and roots were still very slippery from lots of rain leading up to the event. Becky started in the best way possible cleaning the first four sections with her nearest rival, Emma Bristow on two. A two on the fifth, tight twisty turn and also the tricky ninth section was not a disaster as Emma also dabbed here. Becky was brilliant on the tenth section recording the only two cleans of the day. She rounded out the first lap with a one and three on the sections eleven and twelve to come in on eight, holding a two mark advantage over Emma and third placed rider Donna Fox a further seven marks back.

The second lap started in the same way for Becky cleaning the first four sections but two slack three mark rides on section’s six and ten bumped her score up to thirteen for that lap. Emma had nudged in front of Becky with a seven mark loss.

So it was game on for the final tour with Becky determined to make amends for her poor second lap. Which she did posting the best lap of the trial, just five marks lost. It was a tense wait as they waited for the scores to come up, Emma had finished on twenty three with Becky just three behind on twenty six and Donna Fox in third on forty.

Becky was obviously disappointed not to finish the series with a win but very happy to win her seventh British Championship.
